Arborfield and Barkham are working together to produce a Neighbourhood Plan. Some residents may remember a survey was done about 4 years ago.  It produced some very useful information, but work on the Neighbourhood Plan was overtaken by uncertainties associated with the Arborfield Garrison proposals and by the Arborfield Bypass consultation.  Both these issues are now more settled, and work on the Neighbourhood Plan was restarted about 6 months ago.

The two parishes, however, are now facing new challenges.  Wokingham Borough Council have started a Local Plan Update.  As part of this exercise, the planners will be reviewing a long list of proposed sites that have been submitted by developers and landowners including a large number of sites in the two parishes.  Consequently it is now essential that we speedily complete the Neighbourhood Plan, so that local residents can have as much influence as possible on how the Local Plan evolves.
